In Loving Memory of Suzanne "Sue" A. Cole

Suzanne, born on March 27, 1943, in her beloved hometown of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, passed away on September 10, 2023, in the very place that held her heart. She was the cherished daughter of William "Bill" and Arleen (Lang) Schmidt and shared her childhood with her younger brother, William "Jack," and sister, Dianne.

Sue, was a proud graduate of Redwood Falls High School, class of 1961. She embarked on a diverse career journey, working for Braniff Airlines, dedicating herself as a devoted stay-at-home mother, and concurrently pursuing her passion as a licensed beautician with an at-home practice that brought joy and confidence to those she served. She also spent a number of years contributing her talents with Minnehaha Falls Athletic Club (MFAC) and later Budget Car Rental until her retirement.

Throughout her life, Sue's journey took her to different corners of the United States, including Minnesota, Florida, and Arizona. Yet, she ultimately found her way back to her roots in Redwood Falls, where she would spend the rest of her days.

Sue's memory will live on through friends, relatives and her loving family, including;

Her daughter, Jolene Cole, and grand-daughter, Izabella Wessling.

Her son, Brian Cole, his wife, Lori Cole, grand-son, Jared Duske, and his wife, AnaLeigh, along with great grand-sons, Duke and Mac.

Her son, Jeffrey Cole, and his partner, Chuck Duff, and grand-daughter, Mykenzie Cole.

Her dear sister, Dianne (Schmidt) Stedman, of Edgewater, FL, and nieces Laura and Alison along with their respective families.

She is also survived by her brother, William "Jack" Schmidt, of Little Canada, MN.

Sue was a woman of many passions and interests. She had a deep appreciation for the music of the 50s to the 90s, both rock and country. She was a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Her love for reading, travel - particularly to Arizona and the American Southwest, photography, and hand-crafts enriched her life. Sue cherished time spent with close friends, and she volunteered at the Redwood Falls Animal Shelter when the opportunity arose. She found solace in the company of her cats and found immense joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her heart held a special place for Native American history and culture, a subject she admired and respected greatly.

Sue was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William "Bill" and Arleen (Lang) Schmidt.
