Robert “Bob” Bernardy, age 82, of Seaforth, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at River Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso with burial to follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Seaforth, with full Military Honors. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.

Robert John Bernardy, the son of Mathew and Mary Anne (Whitty) Bernardy, was born on September 30, 1941 in Vesta, Minnesota.
Bob led a fulfilling life that was marked by his dedication to his work. He spent many years in the salvage business as a self-employed individual before eventually retiring in 2010. Additionally, Bob proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War, showcasing his unwavering commitment to his country. He was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Seaforth and was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso.
Outside of his professional and military endeavors, Bob found joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a deep passion for fishing along the river near his home, cherishing the moments spent outdoors. Bob also enjoyed visiting his veteran friends and trying his luck at the casino.
In his passing, Bob leaves behind a legacy that will be deeply cherished by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Vicky (Thomas) Main of Virginia Beach; grandchildren Lillith K Main and David A. Main; sisters Catherine Thooft of Marshall, MN, Pat (Jerry) Goblirsch of Kerkhoven,MN, Marlene (Gerry) Heiling of Green Valley, AZ, Mary Jo (Frank) Pohlen of Janesville, MN, Linda Chapman of Prior Lake, MN; brothers Thomas Bernardy of Wabasso and Ron (Lynette) Bernardy of Olivia, MN.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Mathew and Mary Anne Bernardy; sister Jean Thooft; brothers Jerome and James Bernardy; as well as brothers-in-law Earnest Thooft, Tom Chapman and Raymond Thooft.
Robert "Bob" Bernardy will be fondly remembered for his kind heart, steadfast dedication to those around him, and unwavering spirit. May he rest in peace knowing he touched numerous lives with his presence.
