Nathan F. Gegner, age 48, of Morgan, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at his home in Morgan, MN. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Morgan, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at the Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls, MN and will continue for one hour prior to his service from 10 a.m. until 11a.m. at the church.

Nathan Frederick Gegner was born on September 28, 1977, in Redwood Falls to Kevin and Susan Gegner, Nathan’s life was a tapestry of dedication, passion, and love that touched all who knew him.
Nathan’s journey began with a solid educational foundation; he graduated from Morgan High School and pursued further studies at Granite Falls College. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where he also celebrated his marriage to Jody Willinger on June 1, 2002. Their union, solemnized at Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Morgan, was a testament to their deep love and commitment.
Professionally, Nathan was known for his unwavering work ethic, serving diligently as a maintenance worker for MBG Property. His colleagues and friends admired his reliability and the care he brought to his work each day.
Beyond his professional life, Nathan’s heart beat strongest for his family and his exhilarating pastime—racing his #99 race car. The thrill of the track was a source of joy and excitement that he embraced wholeheartedly, reflecting a spirit that was both adventurous and spirited.
Nathan leaves behind his devoted wife, Jody Gegner, and their beloved children: Britney, Dillan, Abbi, and Calleigh Gegner, who carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. His family circle extends to his siblings—Stacy Carlson of Tracy, MN; Amy (Dennis) McGowan of Franklin, MN; and Matt (Caleb) Nelson-Lange of Richfield, MN; stepmother, Paulette Gegner—whose lives were enriched by his presence. Precious among his grandchildren is Hazel Gegner, whose life will forever carry the light of her grandfather’s memory.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Kevin and Susan Gegner; his grandpa, Frederick Gegner; his aunt Bonnie Welter; uncle, Randy Gegner; brother-in-law Brian Carlson; and cousin, Cody Sams. Though these cherished family members have passed before him, their memories remain interwoven with the stories and hearts of those Nathan loved.
Nathan Frederick Gegner’s life was a precious gift marked by kindness, dedication, and an enduring love for racing and family. His memory will forever inspire those who knew him to face life with courage, passion, and an open heart. As we say goodbye, we hold close the warmth of his spirit and the lasting impact he made on every life he touched.
