Marvel Dahmes

Marvel Dahmes, age 96, of Redwood Falls, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center Hospital in Shakopee, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church, 1370 East Bridge Street, Redwood Falls, MN.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the Evangelical Free Church. Burial to follow in the New Avon Salem Cemetery in rural Wabasso.

Marvel Mae Dames, the daughter of Henry and Clara (Beyer) Dahmes, was born on March 22, 1928, in Three Lakes Township, Redwood County, MN. 

She was raised on the family farm in rural Clements area, attended grade school in Clements, and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1946. She then attended teacher’s training in New Ulm and taught school for a number of years, before becoming employed at the Redwood County Telephone Company. She retired in 1993 and spent her remaining years on the family farm.

Marvel is survived by her sister, LaDonna Fox, her niece and nephews, Steve Yungerberg (Linda), Lynn Kitzrow, Randall Yungerberg (Jill), Kevin Allenspach (Danell) and Kurt Allenspach (Kristie) and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Clara Dahmes; sisters, Lorraine (Ronald) Sawvell and Noreen (Jerry) Allenspach; brother-in-law, Richard Fox.
