Marlys M. Ludewig, age 84, of Morgan, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at CentraCare Health - Redwood Hospital in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Morgan, with a luncheon to follow at the church. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. in the St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Wabasso. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the church.

 The Nelson-Hillestad Funeral and Cremation Service of Morgan and Redwood Falls are in charge of the arrangements. E-mail condolences may be sent via www.nelson-hillestad.com.

 Marlys M. Ludewig, the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Woelfel) Hammerschmidt, was born on December 26, 1939, in New Avon Township. In June of 1966, Marlys married Charles Ludewig at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso, MN.  She attended school at St. Anne's in Wabasso and later became a devoted nurses aid at the Comfrey Hospital.

 Marlys and Charlie enjoyed traveling during the earlier years in marriage. Marlys enjoyed spending time with her beloved husband, Charlie. They spent many summer days attending parades with Charlie's restored tractors. Marlys loved photography from her old Brownie camera to the present day. She always had a camera in her hands.

 Family was paramount to Marlys, and she found so much joy in being with her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She treasured each moment spent with them. She loved them all.

 Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Margaret Hammerschmidt; as well as her brother, Allan and sister-in-law Mary Jane Hammerschmidt. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Ludewig of Morgan, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

 Marlys M. Ludewig will be remembered for her kind heart, love for family and friends, and passion for photography. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
