Marilyn was born on December 16, 1943 to Harold and Monica (Spangler) Kerkhoff in Morgan, Minnesota, where she lived for the rest of her life. She attended St. Michael Catholic grade school and Morgan High School before graduating from Mankato Technical College. Marilyn held banking support positions in her years following her education. Marilyn met Gerald Vogl, also of Morgan, at Zaske's Resort on Lake Mille Lacs and they were married on January 16, 1965.

Marilyn and Gerald began farming at their farm located in Three Lakes Township by Morgan where they lived until they moved to town in their retirement. Marilyn became a mother to Scott in 1967 and to Jody in 1969 and she began her vocation of Homemaker. Marilyn treasured being a mother, and later a grandmother, and she threw her whole heart into it by showing her love to her kids and grandkids. She was an excellent wife and mother.

Marilyn was a smart, creative woman and a life-long learner. She was an avid cook and gardener, loved to sew and quilt and was very musically gifted in guitar, piano and voice. Marilyn learned and taught others the dying art of German bobbin lace making (Kneuppling). Gerald and Marilyn enjoyed doing many things together such as raising and taking care of their special dogs, being a part of St. Michael's Catholic Church, camping, going to antique stores, playing cards and cribbage, watching television and laughing. They could always make each other smile and laugh.

Marilyn had many friends and was a part of several clubs that were special to her through her life. When she had trouble physically in later years, these kind friends would come to her house so that she could continue to be a part of things. Marilyn had a deep faith in God and gave specific instructions as to when it was her time, to let her go home to the Lord.

Marilyn is survived by her children Scott (Teresa) Vogl, Jody (Sean) Brown, grandchildren Desiree Otto, Jax Vogl, Georgia Eilertson and Grant Eilertson, great grand-children Dawson, Daunte and Dallas, great-great grandchildren Zoey and Delilah, sister Mary Kay Kerkhoff, brothers Don (Sandy), Dave and Larry (Michelle) Kerkhoff, sister-in-law Alice Zaske, brother-in-law Tom (Carol) Vogl and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by husband Gerald, grandson Jacob Otto, mother and father Monica and Harold Kerkhoff, mother and father-in-law Ann and Frank Vogl, brother Lonnie Kerkhoff, brothers-in-law James, Donald and Frank Vogl, sisters-in-law Delores Seifert and Theresa Kerkhoff.

Blessed be her memory.
