Marguerite Tetrick

June 5, 1928 — December 31, 2025

Marguerite A Tetrick, age 97, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, December 31, 2025 with family members by her side.

Marguerite was born on June 5, 1928 in Redwood County to Fred and Irene (Schweinfurter) Lechner. She attended country school and graduated from Redwood Falls High School. Following graduation, she worked for Production Credit in Redwood Falls, where she met her future husband, Russell Tetrick.

Marguerite and Russell were married on February 20, 1950. They farmed their entire married life, retiring in 1997 but continued to reside on their farm near Redwood Falls. In 2015 they moved to Redwood Falls where Marguerite lived until the day she died.

Throughout her life, Marguerite enjoyed reading, crocheting, and cooking. She was particularly known for her baking skills, earning numerous first-place ribbons at the Redwood County Fair for her homemade bread. She was also known for her delicious meatballs and chicken dumpling soup. Marguerite was always experimenting with new recipes, often tuning into the cooking channel for fresh ideas. She continued to bake and cook for herself until the day she passed.

Marguerite is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren as well as her brother Doug (Rea) Lechner of Redwood Falls and sisters-in-law: Nancy Tetrick of Aiken, Audrey Tetrick of Las Cruces, NM, Betsy Tetrick of Minneapolis, Dawn Tetrick of Aiken.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Tetrick; her parents; her sister Johanna (Ronald) Skillman; brothers-in-law Kenneth, Roger, Dewey, and Charles Tetrick; sisters-in-law Lucille (Dick) Haas, Merlie (Dick) McDougal, and Pricilla Tetrick; and her son-in-law Tim Duehn.

Marguerite will be fondly remembered for the many ways she shared her love with family and friends, particularly through her baking and cooking.
