Mabel Ball, 84, of Redwood Falls died Monday, December 24, 2012 at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 on Friday from First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 4 until 7 p.m., at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue on Friday at the church for one hour prior to services.

Mabel Ball, the daughter of Howard and Minnie (Meyer) Pickett, was born February 22, 1928 in Wabasso. She grew up in Wabasso and received her formal education there.

On May 1, 1951, Mabel married Earl Ball in Morgan and they settled on a farm near Redwood Falls. They raised their family on the farm and then moved into Morgan in 1975. Earl passed away in 1994 and Mabel relocated to Sunwood Care Center in 2001. She was a homemaker and an accomplished gardener. Mabel was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls where she belonged to the chancel choir and various prayer groups.

Mabel is survived by her daughter Diane (Sid) Fenton of Garden Grove, Iowa; sons David Ball and Larry Ball, both of Sioux City, Iowa; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1994; five brothers; and six sisters.
