Koopman Caroline Joleen

Joleen Caroline Plotz Koopman passed away peacefully with family at her side on September 25, 2026. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan, MN on Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00 p.m. , with visitation one hour prior to her service. Interment will be a private family service at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Clements.

Joleen was born on April 25, 1963. During her later childhood years, she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, which presented challenges throughout her life. Despite these struggles, Joleen persevered and went on to graduate from Southwest State University with a degree in psychology/social work, followed by a master's degree in Rehabilitation Services from Mankato State University. In 1983, she welcomed her daughter, Cassandra. In 1999, she married Dan Koopman, and they later divorced. Joleen enjoyed baking, fishing, playing cards and games, and, most of all, spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her daughter Cassandra (Jason) Jonas and 3 grandchildren Jacob, Grace, and Luke, her mother, Janet Plotz, and siblings Sue (Tom) Bornick, Linda (Jay) Pederson, Al (Rosann) Plotz, Stacy (Brian) Brzezinski, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Plotz, and a granddaughter, Charlotte Jonas.

Thank you to the many family and friends who have prayed for Joleen and helped her and her family over the years. Thanks also to the medical community, especially the staff at Benedictine Nursing Home in Cold Spring and St. Croix Hospice, for their tender care and support.

The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Boniface Catholic School, Cold Spring, MN in memory of Joleen Koopman.
