Joanne Darlene Raddatz was born on December 20, 1951 at Sleepy Eye, MN to Loren and Martha (Mielke) Raddatz. She was the oldest of three daughters. She was baptized on January 13, 1952 and confirmed in the Christian Faith on May 15, 1966, both at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Morgan, MN.

Joanne grew up on the family farm southeast of Morgan and graduated from Morgan High School in 1969. After graduation she moved to New Ulm, MN and worked at the law firm of Gislason, Alsop, Dosland and Hunter as a legal secretary from 1969 until October of 1973. She then married W. James Robinson at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Morgan and moved to Redwood Falls. The couple later divorced. She worked at the Redwood County Court Administrator’s Office in Redwood Falls, later the State Court Administrator’s Office for 38 years, retiring in April 2012. After her ALS diagnosis in 2025, she moved to Woodstone Senior Living where she was welcomed and cared for by wonderful staff.

Joanne was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where she served on various committees; was a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Priscilla Circle and the Altar Guild, where she made baptismal banners. She also volunteered her time working for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, American Red Cross, helped delivery Meals on Wheels, and worked as an Election Judge. She enjoyed reading, putting together jigsaw puzzles and solving logic problems, as well as watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. She also bowled, played softball, volleyball and pickleball for many years.

Joanne is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Jeremy Robinson and Ginny Walters, of New Ulm, MN and sister; Karen (David) Brandel of rural New Ulm. Many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Loren and Martha (Mielke) Raddatz and sister; Donna Lothert.
