Janet U’Ren, 76, of Morton died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the Redwood Area Hospital. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 from St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Birch Coulee Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012, from 4 until 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Visitation will continue on Friday for one hour prior to services. Janet Fay U’Ren, the daughter of William and Gena (Erickson) Maurer, was born May 14, 1935 on the family farm in North Star Township, Brown County. She was raised in the rural Springfield area. Janet received her formal education in Springfield schools, graduating from Springfield High School in 1953.
