Evangeline M. Madsen

Evangeline Madsen, age 92, passed away August 7, 2022 at Gil Mor Manor in Morgan. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Evan. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Morgan. Visitation will continue from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Evan. Burial will follow the service at Brookville-Dannebod Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

Evangeline Martha (Polesky) Madsen was born May 10, 1930, in Wellington Township to Hugo and Hildegaard (Buboltz) Polesky. She graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1948. On August 31, 1956, Evangeline married Linus Madsen Sr., in Hector, Minnesota. Evangeline was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a certified nursing assistant at Gil Mor Manor for 20 years. Evangeline was a 4H Leader for Jolly Troopers. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning.
She is survived by her children, Linus (Joane) Madsen of Redwood Falls, Randy (Diane) Madsen of Gibbon, Raymond (Karen) Madsen of Humboldt, IA, Sue Anderson of Spicer, Sharon (Al) Seifert of Blair, WI, Bob (Erin) Madsen of Eagle Bend, Mary Madsen of Morgan, Larry Madsen of Morgan, and Jane (Dennis) Hillberg of Henry, SD; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Evie Drill of Courtland.
Evangeline was preceded in death by her husband, Linus Madsen Sr.; son, Nels Madsen; 7 brothers; 2 sisters; granddaughter, Andrea Seifert; daughter-in-law, Becky Madsen; and son-in-law, Kevin Anderson.
