Edwin Nordby, 99, of Redwood Falls died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015 from Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the Butterfield Cemetery, Butterfield, Minnesota. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from noon until 1 p.m., at the church.

Edwin Morgan Nordby, the son of Eilert and Bertha (Johnson) Nordby, was born June 20, 1915 on the family farm in Long Lake Township, Watonwon County, Minnesota. He grew up in rural Butterfield where he did farm-related work. In 1961, Ed moved to Faribault and on November 1, 1967, he moved to Redwood Falls. Ed worked for REM for 10 years and then retired.
He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Ed enjoyed going for rides in the fall to watch the harvest. He would talk about picking corn by hand, driving the horses, and working hard on the farm. Ed loved going for walks and car rides, playing BINGO, spending time with family and friends, and going out to eat.
Ed is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Louis, Arnold, Otto, Marland, and Bernard; and sisters Blanche, Maime, Leona, Alma, and Clara.
