The family lived in Paxton Township and in 1939 moved to the Kessler homestead in Redwood Falls where he graduated from Redwood High School in 1954. He then went on to study auto mechanics at Dunwoody Institute. He was drafted to the Navy in March 1956, where he served on the U.S.S. Onslow. On March 10, 1967, he married Andrea Pettis at the EUB Church in Redwood Falls. After their marriage they lived in rural Redwood Falls where they farmed and raised their two children. He worked as a semi-truck driver in his early days but was most proud of his time as a farmer, which he was until his retirement. They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls. Curt enjoyed showing horses, trail rides, stock car driving, hunting, and other hobbies, as well as spending his time with his family and friends. He also helped start the Pheasants Forever chapter in Redwood Falls and was involved with the Saddle Club.
He is survived by his two children, Donlee Kessler of Rogers, MN and Kami Kessler of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren, Ryan Kessler, Ben Kessler and Taylor Wray. Proceeded in death by his wife, Andrea Kessler, his parents; one brother, Jay Kessler; one sister, Cheryl “Kessler” Kreis.
In loving memory
