Alice was born on January 25, 1952, in Eden Township, Brown County.

Alice's professional journey was marked by her commitment to nurturing. She worked as a self-employed daycare provider and school cook at Cedar Mountain School. Alice also made meaningful contributions as the activity’s director at nursing homes, where her compassion brought joy to many in Fairfax and Franklin, Minnesota.

Alice graduated from High School in Franklin, MN in 1970, and from that time forward, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her passions and loved ones. An avid gardener, Alice delighted in cultivating large gardens and the fruits of her labor, which she often preserved through canning. She had a talent for sewing and enjoyed making and decorating cakes and cupcakes for countless occasions. Her love for the outdoors shone through in her enjoyment of fishing, hunting, and camping. Above all, Alice had a special fondness for cows, which reflected her gentle spirit and love of nature.

She is survived by her beloved spouse, Reginald "Reg" Wood, and her son, Christopher (Jean) Wood of Franklin. Alice's nurturing nature extended to her extended family, including her sisters, Eleanor (Ken) Ziesmer of Olivia, Minnesota, and Lois (Darwin) Klabunde of Crooks, South Dakota, and sister in law, Nancy Zempel and brother, Dennis (Pam) Zempel of Morgan. She also embraced her role as a stepmother to Melissa (Pete) Kidroski, and deceased Aaron’s wife Kortney Gronau, as well as a proud step great-grandmother to three step great-grandchildren. Alice found comfort and companionship in her cat, Jupiter, who will forever remind her family of her loving presence.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Mabel (Fenske) Zempel, her brother, Gerald 'Butch' Zempel, and her step-grandson, Aaron Gronau.

Alice will be remembered as a loving and caring person whose spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of nurturing, creativity, and love will be cherished and celebrated by countless individuals who were fortunate to have her in their lives.

May she rest in peace.
