Alan proudly served in the Army from June 18, 1976, until his honorable discharge on June 5, 1978. His military service exemplified his commitment and dedication, traits that he carried throughout his life.

He was a remarkable individual known for his resolute spirit and a "never give up and keep fighting" personality. Alan’s hobbies and interests included camping and fishing, which created lasting memories for him and his family during the Luckhardt campouts and the annual Luckhardt Christmas gatherings. He had a profound love for watching football, particularly the Minnesota Vikings, and he enjoyed playing blackjack as well as participating in meat raffles with the Morton Fire Department. His evenings often found him at his favorite gathering spot, the Korner Bar in Morton, and he relished peaceful golf cart rides.

Alan's proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren, along with his son-in-law Chad Luckhardt. He is survived by his children: Jeremy Durant of Eugene, OR; Carrie and Chad Luckhardt of Morton, MN; AJ and Emmi Durant of Everton, AR; and Angie Durant of Harrison, AR. He leaves behind a legacy of love that includes nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; siblings, Jane Auxier of Omaha, NE, Mike Burnett of Lincoln, NE, Fran Jones of Lincoln, NE and Randall Burnett of Lincoln, NE all of whom were dear to his heart.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Daryl and Mary Durant; his granddaughter, Alexis Durant; and his brother, Steve Burnett.
