Wyatt Smith, 16, of Redwood Falls died unexpectedly on Monday, November 26, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012 from First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls. A private family burial service will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 29, 2012, from 4 until 8 p.m., at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue on Friday at the church for one hour prior to services.

Wyatt Kendall Smith, the son of Megan Pratt and Rich Smith, was born December 19, 1995 in Redwood Falls. He lived in Redwood Falls and attended Reede Gray Elementary and Redwood Valley Middle and High schools. Wyatt was a junior at Redwood Valley High School. He was a linebacker and an offensive guard on the Redwood Valley varsity football team.

Wyatt loved his computer, his friends, music, and his car. He really enjoyed watching movies. Wyatt liked to play cards and “torment” his dog, Chuck.

He is survived by his mother Megan Pratt (Dan Wellnitz) of Redwood Falls; and father Rich (Shelly) Smith of Hamburg; his brother Kerry Breyette of Redwood Falls; his sister Tessa Brown (Kevin Remmele) of Redwood Falls; his grandparents Toni and Richard Fredrickson of Granite Falls, and Roger and Marie Kendall of Mission, Texas; his step-grandmother Virginia Fridlund of Glencoe; his step-siblings Lynn, Bridget and Cody Wellnitz of Redwood Falls; and nephew David. Also surviving are his aunt and uncle Leah and Paul Seehusen, and cousins Noah and Lora of Corpus Cristi, Texas; his aunt and uncle Shari and Pat Schmid, and cousins Amber and Trever of Brownton; his aunt Connie Kendall of Bloomington; his uncle and aunt Bob and Denise Kendall, and cousins Derrick and Kylie of Brentwood, California; many other relatives; and a host of friends.

Wyatt was preceded in death by his grandfather Frank Pratt; his uncle Shawn Pratt; his great-grandmother Lavina Smith; and his great-grandparents Lewis and Hazel Pratt, and Brainerd and Inez Otto.
