William Arthur Joseph Dorr, the son of Thomas J. and Catherine (Thein) Dorr, was born April 21, 1925 in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. His father left the family during the Great Depression; Bill was made a ward of the state in 1935 and, soon after, became a resident at Faribault State Hospital. In 1967 he moved to Redwood Falls and lived at REM-South Central Services (then the Robert Milton Home). Bill worked in the huge “Milton Home” garden during the summers and in the kitchen year around. The cookies he made were always perfect. Bill was also very proficient at latch-hooking and made many wall hangings and other items. Around 1991, Bill moved to a house on Second Street where he lived with three housemates. Bill regularly attended Living Word Church while living in Redwood Falls. He loved the children there and still talked about them 20 years later.

Bill moved to Prairie Community Services/Wrenwood Home in Renville in 2001. While living at Wrenwood, Bill worked at ACTS in Olivia until his retirement on September 30, 2011. In his later years, Bill still enjoyed gardening and making rugs. He also liked to feed the birds, make crafts and build birdhouses. Bill also enjoyed John Deere tractors and riding bike.

Bill is survived by his nephew Richard Dorr of Kenyon; niece Catherine Dorr of Minneapolis; great-niece Rhonda Dorr of West Concord; and a host of friends in Renville, Olivia, and Redwood Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers Walter, Thomas Jr., Donald, and George.

Blessed be his memory.
