Robert C. Fixsen Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert C. Fixsen, 69, of Wabasso, Minnesota, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at his home in Sheridan Township. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be held at the Redwood Falls Cemetery in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Visitation will be held Friday, July 30, 2021, from 9:30 until 11 a.m., at St. John Ev Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with Nelson-Hillestad Funeral and Cremation Service of Morgan. E-mail condolences may be sent via www.nelson-hillestad.com. Robert C. Fixsen was born on August 7, 1951 to Clarence and Dorothy (Schmidt) Fixsen in Redwood Falls. Robert was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Seaforth, Minnesota. Robert grew up in Vail Township and attended Wabasso School, graduating in 1969. He attended Mankato State College and graduated in 1973. Robert met Barbara Bartelt and they were married on April 5, 1975 in Trinity Lutheran Church of Janesville, Minnesota. Together they raised 3 children and farmed together in Sheridan Township. Robert was first and foremost a father and a farmer. He also worked as a City and Township Assessor. He was a long-time member of St. John of Redwood Falls where he served as an Usher, serving on the Elder Board and Finance Committee. Robert always had a story to tell and a quick wit. He loved to read, go on crop tours and tour farm implement lots. Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara of Wabasso; children-Daniel Fixsen of Wabasso, Jason (Kelli) Fixsen of Brookings, SD, Sarah (Dustin) Wolforth of Elk Point, SD. Grandchildren- Caleb Fixsen, Gavin Fixsen, Kasen Fixsen, Allie Wolforth, Sidney Wolforth, and Ty Wolforth. His Sister, Kaye Fixsen of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Robert’s Sister in law-Anne (Timothy) Russow of New Hope, Brother in law-Michael (Pamela) Bartelt of Mankato. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dorothy Fixsen. Blessed be his memory.
