Richard "Rich" Gorden Tietz

Richard “Rich” Tietz, 58, of Morgan, Minnesota, died Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Carris Health-Redwood Falls. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Morgan. Burial will be held at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Morgan, Minnesota. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 3 from 4-8 p.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church and on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 9:30 until time of service at 10:30 a.m.

Richard Gorden Tietz was born on December 20, 1962 to Leonard and Leona (Carlson) Tietz in Springfield, Minnesota. He attended Springfield school and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1981. He married Dawn Kletscher at St. John Lutheran Church in Vesta on November 26, 1988. They started their married life in Walnut Grove, moved to Sanborn, Comfrey and settled in Morgan. He was Yard Manager for Clements Lumber where he has worked for 28 years.

Richard was active at Zion Lutheran Church in Morgan, where he served as an Elder, he was a member of the Sons of American Legion, past city council member in Morgan, and was a blood donor. Rich was first and foremost a family man. He enjoyed swimming with the kids and grandkids and going on motorcycle rides with Dawn. He loved to watch sports with his kids and watch his kids play sports. He also loved coaching, grilling, and telling ‘dad’ jokes. Rich enjoyed his morning coffee chats with the gentlemen at the gas station. He was a trusted and dependable friend to all. He will be deeply missed by so many.

Rich is survived by his loving wife, Dawn of Morgan, Children- Megan (Nate) Zabel of New Ulm, Lucas (Kassi) Tietz of Marshall, Amber Tietz of Marshall, Becca Tietz of Morgan and Kegan Tietz of Morgan. He is also survived by Grandchildren- Serena, Holly, and August Zabel and Quinn and Tatum Tietz. Siblings- Janet Fennern of Cannon Falls, Julie Nelson of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Jeanie (Steve) Rasche of Heron Lake. Mother-in-law, Marilyn Kletscher, brother-in-laws- Jeff Kletscher of Floodwood, Randy (Erin) Kletscher of Vesta, Tim (Susie) Kletscher of Benson, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Rich is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Leona Tietz, father-in-law, Harold Kletscher, brother in laws, Tim Nelson and Dan Fennern, and good friend, Orlean Stage.
