Myron "Mike" Schmidt

Myron “Mike” Schmidt, age 78, of Redwood Falls, Minnesota died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the River Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Redwood Falls. A Private Burial is planned for next spring at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Myron was born on January 1, 1942 to Carlton and Maria (Hammerschmidt) Schmidt. The family lived in Wabasso where he was baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. He attended St. Anne’s grade school until the family moved to Redwood Falls. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1959. After graduation he attended the Minneapolis Business College before enlisting in the Army. He was stationed in Germany as a Records Clerk from a Reconnaissance Company.

After military service he lived in California for several years. He then moved back to Minnesota and lived in Redwood Falls, Wabasso and Bloomington. He worked as a dealer at Jack Pot Junction and for SA gas stations. He enjoyed watching NASCAR. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed grilling. Also listening to Country Western Music.

Mike is survived by his daughters, Michelle Schmidt and Tracy (Jerry) Musta and grandchildren and great grandchildren, also survived by his sister, Karen (Larry) Hoff and nieces and nephews.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Carlton Schmidt, Maria & Leland Butenhoff, brother - Stanley Schmidt, sister and brother-in-law - Deloria and Richard Bell, Niece -Terri Lennes and Nephew – Trent Boys.
