Marvella "Marvie" Haas

Marvella “Marvie” Haas, 79, of Redwood Falls passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Tuesday evening, January 9, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the Morton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until noon.

Marvella Ann Haas, the daughter of Jerome and Audrey (Roush) Stancer, was born January 15, 1938 in Morton. She attended school in Redwood Falls, graduating in 1955 from Redwood Falls High School. Throughout her life Marvie worked at various places including Personality Flowers and HiWay Lanes in Redwood Falls, Schulte Homes in both Redwood Falls and Buckeye, Arizona and Palto Verde Generation Station in Tonopah, Arizona. She retired from Jackpot Junction.

Marvie truly treasured her time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also had a passion for sports – especially her Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Marvie enjoyed going to the lake and visiting with her friends. She always looked forward to her “WOW” Club meetings on Wednesday evenings where she was an honorary member and past “treasurer” of this exclusive club of fun-loving women. Marvie always stayed busy with her hobbies including scrapbooking, crafts, bowling, watching sports, and going to the lake and being on her pontoon. She loved horses, especially in her younger years, and was crowned Redwood Falls Saddle Club Queen in 1955. Marvie loved the sun and lived in Arizona from 1985 to 1992.

Marvie is survived by her children Scott (Dana) Haas of Shoreview, Terri Stage (Bruce Billmeier) of Redwood Falls, Gregg (Becky) Haas of Owatonna, and Todd Haas of Buckeye, Arizona; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her brother Ron (Linda) Stancer of Hastings. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew.
