Martin Mathiowetz, 97, of Redwood Falls and formerly of Wabasso died Friday, October 19, 2012 at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls. Burial, with full military honors, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. In accordance with his wishes there will be no Mass or visitation. Arrangements are with the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service of Redwood Falls. Martin Anthony Mathiowetz, the son of Frank and Marguerita (Rausch) Mathiowetz was born February 5, 1915 in Eden Township, Brown County. Martin enlisted in the United States Navy on October 7, 1942 and served his country as a Motor Machinist Mate in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on November 27, 1945.
