Marlys Witte

Marlys Witte, 88, of Morgan and formerly of Red Wing died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan. Memorial Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from Gil-Mor Manor Chapel in Morgan. Inurnment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are with Nelson-Hillestad Funeral and Cremation Service of Morgan. Condolences may be sent via www.nelson-hillestad.com .

Marlys Fae Witte, the daughter of Edward and Laurenda (Smith) Swanson, was born May 22, 1929 in Minneapolis. She grew up in Anoka and graduated from high school there in 1947.

On July 2, 1949, Marlys married Richard G. Witte. He passed away in 1981. Marlys was employed as the receptionist for SB Foot Tanary in Red Wing until her retirement in 2004. She was an active church member at First Covenant Church in Red Wing.

Marlys is survived by her children Laura Christiansen of Red Wing, Mark Witte of Lakeville, Cheryl Berg of Red Wing, Dawn Moll of Morgan, and Steve Witte of Milaca; grandchildren Aaron Moll, Hannah Holmstrom, Isaac Moll, Olivia Krog, Emily Schiffler, and Sarah Neuviroth; seven great-grandchildren; and her brother Orv Swanson of Auburn, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard and her sister Lois Krebs.
