Marjorie Rosalind Hewett, the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Johnson) Christenson, was born July 2, 1922 in Alden, Minnesota. She received her formal education in Tyler Public School.

On April 20, 1943, Marge married Melvin Joseph Hewett in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and the couple made their home in Redwood Falls. Marge was first and foremost a wife, mother and homemaker; she also worked as a salesclerk at Woolworths and later Alco for 25 years. In 1977, Marge and Melvin moved to Kearney, Nebraska where they lived until 1992. (It was there that Marge worked for Alco.) They returned to Redwood Falls in 1992.

Marge was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church where she served as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher. She also belonged to the Sunshine Circle. Marge belonged to bowling league; she won several bowing trophies and missed bowling a perfect game by just one pin! Marge also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidering and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

She is survived by her children Pauline (Keith) Couch of Gering, Nebraska, Katherine (Bob) Williams of Riverside, California, Ardis (Keith) Kearney of Clarinda, Iowa, Edward Hewett of Redwood Falls, and Joyce (Johnny) Marlow of Redwood Falls; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings Milton Christenson of Mesa, Arizona, Pearl Kolve of Osseo, Wisconsin, Allen Christenson of Winston, Oregon, and Daniel Christensen of Grandview, Washington. Marge was preceded in death by her husband Melvin on April 23, 2000; brothers Howard and Robert Christenson; and sisters Jocelyn Goodwin, Lucille Tisue, and Alice Mae Christenson.

Blessed be her memory.
