Kristin Beth Guggisberg, the daughter of Knute and Ila (McNamara) Routhe, was born October 27, 1955 in Redwood Falls. She grew up on the family farm in Paxton Township and received her formal education in Redwood Falls Public School.

On July 29, 1978, Kris married Gary Guggisberg and they lived and farmed in rural Morton. First and foremost a wife and mother, Kris also operated a catering business for several years. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Women’s Guild. Kris enjoyed quilting, fishing, traveling, playing cards and board games, special time with the neighborhood coffee gals, and spending time at the lake. She was a fantastic fisherman and enjoyed fishing with all the grandkids. Cooking big meals for her family was a joy and Kris loved cooking her famous “Grandma Noodles.” She loved to spoil her 11 grandkids and cheer them on in all their activities. More than anything, Kris loved Christmas time with her family.

She is survived by her husband Gary of Morton; children Richard (Corrie) Guggisberg of Northfield, Aaron (Lisa) Guggisberg of Morgan, Jesse Guggisberg of Eden Valley, and Nicole (Justin) Sandmann of North Mankato; grandchildren Anika, Isaac and Luke Guggisberg, AJ, Axel, Ayla, and Ashlyn Guggisberg, Isabelle and Coraline Guggisberg, and Brynn and Asher Sandmann; sister Kathy Wohlman of Kimball; brother Richard (Milady) Routhe of Lakeville; and many nieces and nephews.

Kris was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law LeRoy Wohlman.

Blessed be her memory.
