Elsie M. Rohde, 95, of Morgan died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Morgan with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, at the church, from 9:30 until 10:30 am.

Elsie Margaret Rohde, the daughter of Gustav and Emma Lienig, was born April 7, 1919 in Morgan, Minnesota. She grew up in Morgan where she received her formal education and graduated from Morgan High School.
In August 1940, Elsie married Arnold Rohde. They made their home on Carlton Avenue and resided there for their entire married life. Following Arnold’s death in June 1995, Elsie continued living in her home until moving to Gil-Mor Manor.
She was a homemaker. Elsie enjoyed gardening and preparing meals as well as preserving the bounty from her garden. She loved feeding and watching birds, flower gardening, and animals – particularly cats and chickens. Elsie was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she did volunteer work and served on the funeral committee.
She is survived by her son Duane (Marlys) Rohde of Bemidji; grandchildren Joel (Polly) Rohde of Solway, Julie Rohde of Maui, Hawaii, and Dawn Cook of Bemidji; great-grandchildren Cody (Stacy) Rohde, Keri Rohde, Kiana Suther, and Zachary Suther; great-great-grandchildren Olivia, Amelia, and Emma Rohde; special niece Marge Ripperton; and many nieces and nephews. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Arnold; sisters Margaret Hoover and Elsie Lienig; and brothers Oscar and Walter Lienig.
