Dorothy Kathryn Lorenz Sarrazin, the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy Lorenz, was born November 24, 1946 in Willmar. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1964 and St. Catherine’s University in 1968.

On August 28, 1982, Dorothy married Wolfgang Sarrazin. She worked alongside Wolfgang as a legal secretary at Ebbesen and Sarrazin law office. She was an integral part of the Redwood Area Library Foundation and the building of the new library in Redwood Falls.

Following Wolfgang’s death on September 2, 1996, Dorothy moved to Spicer. There, she became a very familiar face at the Spicer library where she volunteered extensively. Dorothy was an avid bridge player and had many devoted bridge friends. She also enjoyed visiting the nursing homes where she played bridge with the residents. Dorothy loved children and was the much-loved grown-up to many.

She is survived by her step-children Stephen (Shelly) Sarrazin, and Christine (Daren) Stafford; grandchildren Brady, Nicolas, Jordan, Sam, and Mackenzi; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many, many devoted friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wolfgang.

“A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one finds a treasure.” Sirach 6:14
