Dennis “Denny” Lothert, 66, of Redwood Falls died Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in Morton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, at the church. The funeral will also be livestreamed on Tuesday, following the link https://www.youtube.com/user/stjohnrwf .

Dennis James Lothert was born on December 19, 1955, the son of Floyd and Della (Bloom) Lothert on the family farm in rural Morton. He attended and later graduated from Morton High School in 1974. On August 14, 1976, he married Virginia “Ginny” Baumann at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Walnut Grove. Denny worked for Northwest Drywall for 44 years retiring in 2018. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Denny took great pride in his woodworking and loved hearing about what everyone was up to.

He is survived by his children, Tara (Allen) Ruter of Atwater, MN, Tammy (Lewis) Louwagie, Zachary Lothert and Tyler (Breanna Tuley) Lothert, all of Redwood Falls, MN; seven grandchildren, Alex, Isaac and Ethan Louwagie, Caleb and Emma Ruter, and Ivory and Delaney Lothert; brothers and sisters, Steve (Lynette) Lothert of Alexandria, MN, David Lothert of Morton, MN, Julie (Scott) Hoek of Comfrey, MN, Kathy (Dean) Drexler of Willmar, MN, John Lothert of Morton, MN; mother-in-law, Joan Baumann; and sister-in-law, Brenda Lothert.

Denny was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny; parents, Floyd and Della Lothert; brother, Stan Lothert; and father-in-law, Romuald Baumann.
