Delores Ann “Dee” Werner, 72, of Redwood Falls died Friday, May 13, 2011 at Seasons in Redwood Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls with Rev. Janiece Redman officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Redwood Falls Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2011, from 4 until 7 p.m., at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue on Saturday at the church for one hour prior to services.

Delores Ann (Rebik) Werner was born on September 12, 1938 in Tama, Iowa to Emil Lester and Ella (Benda) Rebik. Dee attended Tama Public Schools and graduated from Tama High School in May 1956.

On August 18, 1957 Dee married William LeVerne Werner at the Methodist Church in Tama, Iowa. Dee moved with her husband to the University of Iowa in Iowa City from 1961-1967 after Bill served in the United States Air Force stationed at Langley Air Force Base in West Virginia from 1957-1961. Her family lived in Breckenridge, Minnesota for a year before moving to Redwood Falls in 1968. Dee worked at the Redwood Falls Clinic for many years and later enjoyed volunteering at the Redwood Falls library and Wood Dale Nursing home.

Delores Ann Werner died on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Redwood Falls Hospital Seasons Hospice facility. She had attained the age of 72 years, eight months and one day. She had battled almost half her years with MS.

Dee is survived by her children William Scott Werner and his wife Juanita of Forest Lake, Schellee Lynn Sander of Punta Gorda, Florida, and Jason Allen Werner of Willmar; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister Norma Jean Novotny of West Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, brother Darrell and sister Elaine.
