David Paul Woodford

David Woodford, 66, of rural Redwood Falls died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls with Rev. Janiece Redman officiating. Burial will follow in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue on Wednesday, from 1 until 2 p.m., at the church.

David Paul Woodford, the son of LeRoy and Helen (Skelton) Woodford, was born March 22, 1949 in Redwood Falls. He grew up in Redwood Falls and graduated from Redwood Falls High School.

On July 8, 1967, Dave married Debra Jean Halter in the Church of Christ in Redwood Falls. They made their home on their farm west of Redwood Falls. Dave was a lifetime farmer. He also did bodywork at the Scott-Preusse dealership and worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years.

Dave was a member of First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls where he served as an usher and greeter. He belonged to Redwood Valley Riders saddle club. Dave enjoyed riding horse and attending athletic activities and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

David is survived by his children Kelly (Joe) Merrill of Prior Lake, Derek (Dana) Woodford of Redwood Falls, Stacey (Jeremy) Frank of Olivia, and Amy Woodford Smith (Jared Keaveny) of Redwood Falls; grandchildren Brittany Dewitz, David Dewitz, Tyler Dewitz, Christopher Woodford, Cole Woodford, Carson Woodford, Ashley Frank, Alexis Frank, Austin Frank, Bronson Smith, Madeline Smith, Isabelle Smith, Bella Keaveny and Aliannah Keaveny; and great-grandchildren Olivia Woodford, and little Brock on-the-way. Also surviving are his brothers Robert (Marilou) Woodford of Hastings, James Woodford of Little Canada, John (Diane) Woodford of Redwood Falls, and Charles (Anne) Woodford of Minneiska. He was preceded in death by his parents.
