David Duane Morman, the son of Edward and Helen (Ehlers) Morman, was born April 6, 1940 in Beulah, North Dakota. He grew up in Beulah and received his early education in Beulah public schools, graduating from Beulah High School in 1958. Dave enlisted in the United States Navy in September 1958 and served as a nuclear weapons man on the USS Saratoga. His four-year tour of duty was completed just two weeks prior to the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

Following his honorable discharge, Dave enrolled at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks where he earned his MBA. He was employed as a Certified Public Accountant at Touche-Ross for three years. Dave then moved to Redwood Falls where he was the Chief Financial Officer at Central Bi-Products for 35 years.

On April 3, 1971, Dave married Yvonne Vandal in Minneapolis and they made their home in Franklin. He was a member of the American Legion. Dave had fond memories of his first new car – a 1967 Mustang. He was an art collector and supporter of the arts. Dave loved to read – especially science fiction and intrigue. He loved taking things apart. Dave was “the Halloween Man of Franklin.” He thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and spent weeks preparing for it. Children from the Franklin area – and beyond – flocked to the Morman home for Halloween treats.

He is survived by his wife Yvonne of Franklin; his daughter Megan (Cindy) Morman of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; brothers Don (Dorothy) Morman of Owatonna, and Dale (Jo) Morman of Anchorage, Alaska; and sister Daphne (Ron) Sturtz of Roseburg, Oregon. Dave was preceded in death by his parents.

Blessed be his memory.
