Daniel "Mo-Jive" Crain

Daniel “Mo-Jive” Crain, 67, of St. Cloud and formerly of Franklin died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Church of Sacred Heart in Franklin with burial at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018.

Daniel John (Mo-Jive) Crain was born on October 26, 1951 to Jack and Catherine (Gatzka) Crain. He was raised on their farm in Sherman Township, Redwood County. Dan attended school in Franklin, involved in sports, plays – etc. He graduated in 1969.

Dan enlisted in the Army and served in Panama. After his service time was completed, he returned home and worked for Crain Gravel, driving truck. He joined the Minnesota National Guard working as a recruiter for 22 years, he moved back to Franklin. Then moving to St. Cloud where he made his home, retiring there in 2016.

He enjoyed watching Vikings, Twins, Minnesota Wild and U of M Gophers. He enjoyed history, spending time at the library and Cowboy Jack’s in St. Cloud. He volunteered at the VFW, helping with Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas dinners.

On November 15, 2018, his soul left this world to join his father, Jack and sister, Teri Dickmeyer.

He will be missed by his mother Cathy Crain of Redwood Falls, MN; siblings, Pat (Linda) Crain of Franklin, MN; Charlie (Mary) of Mankato, MN; Toni (Gene) Lusian of Mesa, AZ; Jeff (Michelle) of Belle Vue, NE; Mary (Tim) Dalien of Spicer, MN; Becky Crain of Cornell, WI and Joe (Shauna) of Bedminster, NJ; Brother in Law, Dave Dickmeyer of Sioux Falls, SD; Aunt Phyllis Lueken of Morgan, MN. He has many nieces and nephews; Adam Crain, Tyler Crain, Amanda Crain and Emily Crain; Amber Coburn, Brooke Dickmeyer, and Corrie Kast; Chad Erwin, Jason Lusian, Jim Lusian and Tina Lusian; Sami Crain, Allie Crain, Jack Dalien, Dylan Crain and Carson Crain; special friend, Pam Schwartz and countless friends.
