April 19, 1918 - February 19, 2016

Cleophas “Cleo” Zeug, 97, of Redwood Falls died Friday, February 19, 2016 at Season’s hospice in Redwood Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 from Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon and gathering for family and friends will follow, from 2 until 4 p.m., at Garnette Gardens in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, from noon until 1 p.m., at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Nelson-Hillestad Funeral and Cremation Service of Redwood Falls. E-mail condolences may be sent via www.nelson-hillestad.com. Cleophas Margaret Zeug, the daughter of Joseph and Cleophas (Schulte) Iffert, was born April 19, 1918, in Leavenworth, Minnesota. She received her formal education in Morgan Public Schools. On September 28, 1940, Cleo married Leo Zeug at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Morgan, and they made their home in Echo. In 1948, the family moved to Redwood Falls. Cleo was a homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, painting, sewing, knitting, and playing bridge. She is survived by her children Dian (Harry) Tryon and their children Christine, Jim (Rhonda), and Lucinda (Matt); Leona Atkins, her children Nolan (Bridget), Amy (Brent), Coleen (Tony), and Derrick (Cindy), and grandchildren Nathaniel, Gabriel, Benjamin, Alex, Lauren, Sloan, Reese, Megan, Morgan, Keagan, and Logan; Denis (Linda) Zeug, their children Zak (Emmy), Andrea (Adam), and grandchildren Ty, Lily, Claire, Will, and Juliet; Leon (Karen) Zeug, their children Ben and Aaron; Rebecca (Ed) Matthiesen, their children Robert, John, and Sarah; and Roberta (Dennis) Zeug Shell. Also surviving are her brother Sylvester (Casey) Iffert of Seattle, Washington; and sister Odelia Eckart of Willmar. Cleo was preceded in death by her husband Leo in November 1995; son David; and great-grandchildren Sara and Grady. Blessed be her memory.
