Casper "Cap" Dennis Green

Casper “Cap” Green, 74, of Morgan died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls, with military honors to follow. Burial will be held in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Morgan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, from 4 until 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Visitation will continue Wednesday, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m., at the church.

Casper Dennis Green, the son of Herbert and Alice (McNamara) Green, was born May 22, 1941 in Redwood Falls. He grew up on the family farm in rural Morgan, where he resided his entire life. Cap received his formal education at St. Michael’s Catholic School and Morgan High School. He graduated in 1959 and then attended trade school for welding. Cap was a life-long farmer; he retired in 2004.
Cap was married to Virginia Maurice in Morgan. On February 24, 2013, Cap married Karon Roesner in Texas and they made their home on the farm near Morgan. Cap was a member of the Army National Guard from 1962 until 1968 and was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He belonged to the Wingnuts remote control aircraft club, the Academy of Model Aeronautics, the Cattlemen’s Association, and the Morgan Township Board. Cap was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife Karon of Morgan; son Mark (Kathy) Green of New Ulm; daughter Lisa (Dan) Hanson of Savage; mother Alice Green of Golden Valley; and grandchildren Nicolas and Julie Hanson, Madelyn and Andrew Green. Also surviving are four step-children; 14 step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; sisters Barbara (John) Kulstad of Sturgeon Lake, and Margaret (Tom) Black of Missoula, Montana; and brother Max (Sandy) Green of New Hope. Cap was preceded in death by his father.
