Betty J. Dallenbach-Hempel, 81, of Redwood Falls and formerly of Dodge Center died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from The Assembly of God Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Morton. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services.

Betty Dallenbach-Hempel, the daughter, of Floyd and Wanda (Kramer) Sackett, was born November 19, 1930 in Dodge Center. She grew up in Dodge Center and received her formal education at the local school.

On October 16, 1948, Betty married Leland “Bud” Dallenbach in Mantorville. The couple resided in Morton where they owned and operated the Morton Hotel until 1969 and Johnny’s Café until 1970. Betty retired from waitressing in 1989 and, following Bud’s death, she relocated to Dodge Center.

Betty was a fabulous cook and an avid bowler. She also enjoyed singing and playing the guitar for her family. Betty loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a member of The Assembly of God Church in Dodge Center.

Betty is survived by her children Mike Dallenbach of Morton, Terry (Sue) Dallenbach of Morton, Linda Larsen of Redwood Falls, Bev (Denny) Roper of Morton, Vicky Dallenbach of Morton, and Nicole (Dustin) Albrecht of Gibbon; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings Gerald (Jo) Sackett of Arizona, Peg (Tex) Madsen of Dodge Center, Bobbie (Ron) Post of Dodge Center, Bev (Dan) Barry of Kasson, Philly Posie of Claremont, Dick (Sharon) Sackett of Dodge Center, Denny Sackett of Dodge Center, and Jeannie (Gary) Johnson of Dodge Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Dallenbach; grandchildren Joshua James Dallenbach, Olivia Kay Marie Wabasha, and Misty Jo Ahrens; and her parents Floyd and Wanda Sackett.
