Albert Panitzke, 89, of Redwood Falls died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Immanuel Saint Josephs Hospital in Mankato. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011 from Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with Pastor Bill Klavetter officiating. Burial will follow in the Morton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Home and will continue at the church one hour prior to services.

Albert Fred Panitzke was born July 15, 1921 to August and Bertha Panitzke. Albert grew up in the Redwood Falls area and attended country school. He began farming in southeast Redwood Falls, in Paxton township and later resided in Morton.

Albert proudly raised three children. He retired from farming in 1968. He then went to work for Skyline Homes of New Ulm, and Schult Homes of Redwood Falls. After retiring from Schult Homes in the late 1990’s, he continued his woodworking hobby at Alberts Woodshed – Where Quality was Born.

He loved his family and will be deeply missed.

Albert is survived by his children Nancy (Stephen) Waldorf of Olivia, Duane Panitzke and special friend Carolyn Young of Morton. Also surviving are his grandchildren Jodie and Barry Braaten, Roger Panitzke, Kara (Tony) Elwood, and Christa Waldorf; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents August and Bertha Panitzke, wife Cecelia Panitzke, sisters Agnes Panitzke and Marie Luckhardt, brother Reinhardt Panitzke, son Larry Panitzke, and grandsons Curtis Panitzke and Adam Panitzke in infancy.
